Support for iOS 10 dropped
Thanks to the support and input of many users P-Edge media has released version 6 of Weerbericht Nederland.
The app has an improved layout with better readability and more overview. On top of the screen more attention is paid to the weather at the current location. The Today view now also shows the weather at the current location as well as the short term forecast. When location use is disabled the average for the Netherlands will be shown.
iOS 12 users (and up) now get support for Dark Mode. On iPhone it's now possible to view the animated satellite, which used to be only available on the iPad version. On iPad the iPhone layout is now used, albeit horizontally.
On Apple Watch too the layout has been improved and the local weather is displayed. When location use is disabled the average for the Netherlands will be shown. The warnings screen now displays the warning color code. The IJsselmeergebied and Waddenzee are now selectable in the settings.
The entire app is now faster. Many small improvements have also been added. Wind directions are displayed in a better way and wind speeds are calculated more accurately. Support for iOS 10 has been dropped.
The app is still privacy-friendly: location- or other data will not be stored, kept or shared with other parties. Weather data comes directly from KNMI, without intervention by other parties or foreign weather services.
Weerbericht Nederland is free to download and use.
